Unfortunately currently my practice is full and I'm not accepting new clients. My waitlist is full as well. As soon as I have availability, I will update this site, sorry about any inconvenience. Please be good to you, on your journey.

There comes a time when we all need some extra support. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I’d love to help you on your way toward healing and self-discovery.

Life can be overwhelming and exhausting sometimes, I’m here to guide you through the obstacles you may be facing. My goal is to help you with the distressing symptoms you are having. Working together to understand and shift the patterns of thinking and perceiving that keep you stuck. While getting in touch with the deep strength that is already within you.

Here are some of the issues I work with: depression, suicidal thoughts, grief, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, addiction, relationship issues, codependency, spiritual abuse, narcissistic abuse, assertiveness, feelings of being stuck, anger management, parenting,

major life changes, and more.

I have helped thousands of individuals with these concerns and have over 20 years of experience in the fields of mental health, psychotherapy, social work, and chemical dependency. I work primarily with adults, older adults, teens, and couples. My office is in the Wallingford area of Seattle. I would love to assist you in your journey to wholeness.

About Therapy

I am fascinated with our abilities as humans to overcome our limitations by expanding our perception. Through this act of expansion, we can enable inner transformation. I’m convinced that change and healing are possible when you are willing to take the courageous act of addressing the issues facing you.
As your therapist, I will help you make use of the emotional and relational challenges in your life as opportunities for personal growth. I will assist you in developing a wholistic mindset that will help you to understand your experiences and emotional symptoms more fully and thus remove psychological barriers that keep you stuck. We will work to rediscover the inner wisdom, strength, and clear vision that has always been within you; ultimately, leading you back to enjoying your life and having more fulfilling relationships.
I look forward to collaborating together to assist you in the rediscovery of yourself and the life you want.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I really enjoy being a therapist, I think everyone could use a little therapy. I also have always liked the root meaning of psychology which is, the study or knowledge of the soul. So, I guess what I mean is, everyone could use some time to get in touch with their True Self or Soul, living life from a more centered authentic place, as oppose to a life of more stress and anxiety.
Since I was a child, for some reason I have always been fascinated with why we do what we do. How come we treat each other the way we do? Why do we treat ourselves the way we do? Who made up these rules of engagement anyway? And do I have to keep following these rules? So, it's no wonder I was drawn to Psychology.
One of my favorite professors in college would say “in order to be a good professional you have to be a good patient” He would challenge us to do our own work. I have come to believe as a therapist I have a responsibly to do my own personal emotional work as well.
I like to say “before I take you down the rabbit hole, I need to have gone first to see if I would recommend it” I have found it’s a journey worth taking.
As you get to know me, you’ll see I will work to help you not take yourself so serious. Not that the issues you face aren’t serious, or the feelings and emotions we deal with aren't troubling.  However if you can learn to understand a situation, loosening it up, getting curious about it. Then learn to bring compassion and inner awareness to ourselves, we increase our ability to understand the problem. Once we gain understanding of something, it can bring deep wisdom into our lives, assisting us in overcoming what we are struggling with.
In order to enjoy this journey myself, in my spare time you might find me spending time with my partner, family and friends, doing abstract art, yoga, writing, exercising, meditation, spiritual practice, or drinking coffee and reading some psychology or book on transformation. If I can be in nature or by the water, I will be there! I’m kind of like one of those dogs that love water, I always want to jump in. Something about nature and water is centering, with no work necessary to achieve it, nature is healing like that.  I also love snowboarding, water-skiing, great tasting healthy food, transformational group work, music and just being a goof ball if possible. Got to laugh at ourselves sometimes.
So, if any of what I’m talking about resonates with you, from one human being to another, I hope to assist you in your journey back to wholeness.

Couples Therapy

Research shows that normally when a couple comes in for counseling, they have been having problems for an average of 6 yrs. Don’t wait that long – coming in sooner tends to shorten the amount of time needed to get your relationship back on track.

After consistent couples counseling, you should expect to gain a better understanding about what it takes to have a good relationship. You will learn what you need to focus on to improve.  Along with learning constructive ways to meet your own needs and that of your spouse.

Increasing the positive encounters with your spouse is the most important thing you can do to improve your relationship. Recent research shows if you want to stay in a healthy relationship, it takes 5 positive interactions to offset one negative interaction. So it may sound simplistic, but studies show increasing your positive interactions, is key to staying together.

Let’s work together to make your relationship the absolute best and most fulfilling it can be for both of you.

Clinical Supervision

Thank you for considering me as your potential clinical supervisor. I approach supervision from a collaborative framework to help supervisee's grow in their professional life which will help them better serve their clients. This involves helping Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage Family Therapists or Interns clearly develop their professional identity. The work is largely an exploration and development of your own individual therapeutic orientation, style and professional identity. The general areas of focus include working to increase competence in major clinical domains of supervisee’s professional behaviors such as: counseling skills, personal growth and awareness, client/case conceptualization, screening and assessment, individual, group, family, and couples counseling, client education, ethical and professional standards, and the ability to create therapeutic relationships. I’m confident you’ll find my personalized supervision beneficial and inspirational.

Two Dried Leaves
